 The Lehigh Railway LLC (LRWY) operates 56 miles of track in North Central PA. The mainline of Lehigh Railway runs from Athens to Mehoopany. The LRWY leases the line on a long term lease from Norfolk Southern.
LRWY began operations in January 2009 and hauled 2500 cars in our first year of operation. We hauled 5000 cars in 2010.
The LRWY interchanges with Norfolk Southern in Sayre, PA. It also interchanges with regional carrier Reading & Northern at Mehoopany, PA and Towanda, PA.
LRWY utilizes 7 locomotives and 10 employees to operate and maintain this line.
LRWY shares administrative offices and staff with the Owego Harford Railway, Inc. Meridian Southern Railway, LLC, and Luzerne and Susquehanna Railway in Owego, NY. |
