LRWY has received a $700,000 grant with a required $300,000 in matching funds ($1,000,000 total) from Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Bureau of Rail Freight, Ports, and Waterways (BRFPW), Rail Freight Assistance Program (RFAP) for rehabilitation of track and bridges.

Scope of Work: Rehabilitate track and bridge structure for Susquehanna River Bridge in Towanda, PA by replacing 1,578 bride timbers and surfacing 600' of approach track.

April 19, 2013 - Bid package released. Notice to bidders placed in 3 newspapers, 2 on-line newspapers, 1 news service, and directly sent to 18 potential bidders.

April 25, 2013 - Addendum 001 released. Bid date extended to 4:00 pm on May 8, 2013

April 29, 2013 - Bidder's conference, Towanda, PA. Seven contractors attended.

May 2, 2013 - Addendum 002 released.

May 8, 2013 - Bid opening. 5 bids received. Frank Tartaglia, Inc. is low bidder at $623,902.00.

May 31, 2013 - Notice of Award issued to Frank Tartaglia, Inc. in the amount of $623,902.00. Line item pricing listed below.

August 23, 2013 - Start of work delayed until spring 2014 due to permit issues.

February 25, 2014 - GP-11 Permit issued by Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection

March 17, 2014 - Start of work.

June 3, 2014 - Work complete.

June 13, 2014 - PennDOT initial inspection.

July 11, 2014 - PennDOT final inspection. All work accepted and signed for.
